Oscar is a two year old male Doberman/Hound Mix. Oscar weighs about 55 pounds. Oscar is up to date on vaccinations, is neutered, and is heart worm negative. He is house and crate trained, and will whine when he needs to go outside. Oscar has come a long way since being found in a drainage ditch, with his 3 siblings, at age 4 months. They were all terrified of everything, especially humans. Poor Oscar was in constant fight mode. He has been in foster care since. He still takes some time to warm up to humans. Oscar still has great fears of the leash, but is trying to overcome that. He knows a few basic commands. When he gets excited he has that wonderful hound bawl and is most playful in the mornings. He has also recently learned he loves back scratches and ear rubs, and really likes visits to the river or lake. Oscar would do well with a quieter home, maybe older children, definitely another dog (older than him, he has no preference on male or female), NO cats though! But most of all, Oscar needs someone with a lot of patience and understanding. He still has so many scary obstacles to overcome in day to day life. Right now, Oscar is not the dog to take on leisure walks, he still needs to build much more confidence, but it is very exciting to watch him overcome a fear and learn to enjoy life as a puppy!
